Aberaeron is a small harbour town on the shores of the county of Ceredigion, which is on the wonderful, world-renowned Cardigan Bay coastline of West Wales.
It is mid-way along the Ceredigion coast, 22 miles from the the old market town of Cardigan and 16 miles from the county’s largest town, the seaside resort and university town of Aberystwyth, in the north.
The popular sea-side resort and harbour of New Quay is just 7 miles to the south-west.
The harbour is the main focal point of Aberaeron and is a lovely place to stroll and take in the beautiful surroundings or for a spot of crab fishing! Visitors can appreciate the Georgian architecture and the brightly coloured painted houses that line the streets. Nearby there are plenty of pubs and cafes as well as independent shops selling unique homewares, crafts, clothing and jewellery.
Aberaeron has some brilliant dining options for foodies. The Hive is well known for their famous honey ice cream but also serve delicious breakfast, lunch and evening meals. The Stubborn Duckling is also highly rated – a small bistro doing modern British classics exceptionally well.
